After every PC reboot office 2010 keeps asking for the product key.

I am running Win7 home premium and installed Office 2010 professional plus that I purchased via MS HUP.  I downloaded and installed Office 2010 OK, but recently it started asking for the product key every time I reboot my PC, and this last time it accepted the key, but then gave me an error (don't have it available at the moment), and it 'backed out' the changes and kicked me out.

Answer
Does an older version of Microsoft Office coexist on the computer?
If yes then ensure all versions of Microsoft Office are uninstalled except Office 2010 using Programs and Features under Control Panel.
If no other version of Microsoft Office is installed on the computer except Office 2010 then try the following steps:
1.    Open Programs and Features under Control Panel
2.    Right-click on Microsoft Office 2010 > select Change
3.    Select the option to ‘Enter a product key’ > Continue
4.    Enter the Product key to update and close the wizard once the configuration complete
5.    Restart any Office 2010 application to activate
6.    Ensure Office 2010 is activated then close the open windows for the Office 2010 application

Booklet Printing (word 2010)

I am trying to print a booklet in word 2010 and have inserted a border. I am trying to print it so that the book is "portrait" on a "landscape" paper (so the book looks like an actual book). I have tried printing my document several times and the results have either been
1. the book prints in landscape format (so flips up and down)
2. the book prints in portrait format, as does the content (therefore, 1/4 of the book is cut off).

Any suggestions? I have played around with margin and gutters izes and no results.

Answer
Nm, figure it out.

I went out of booklet printing mode and then back into it and that solved it.

Excel 2010 Formula changes or Link changes after installing Excel Security Update

After installing the Excel Security Update MS11-072, I received formula errors in the worksheets. The formula changes or the link changes.

Why does Microsoft power Point allways lock up and close? What a pain! Do Mac's have this issue?

Every day when I start using Microsoft Office 2010 Power Point I have issues. The more I am using the program, the more it freezes up. I eventually have to do a repair and it's ok for a while. It's a cycle. I have already uninstalled Microsoft Office 2010 & reinstalled it off the Microsoft Office 2010 disc I ordered last month. I ordered it thinking the online download was not 100%. Nothing has changed. Does anyone have suggestions?

Answer
Follow the steps mentioned below and see if it helps
1.Go to Start -> Computer -> C-Drive -> Program Files ->MS Office -> Office 14 -> Right click on powerpnt.exe-> Properties.
2. Go to Compatibility tab -> Disable “Run this program in compatibility mode for” option -> Apply -> OK.
3. Try opening PowerPoint 2010.
If the above step does not work, try changing the default printer.
To change the default printer follow the steps:
1. Go to Start -> Device & Printers -> Right Click on Microsoft XPS Document writer or Send to OneNote 2010-> click on “Set as Default printer”.
2. Try opening PowerPoint 2010, if it opens then you have to contact printer manufacturer to install the printer driver updates.

Styles in WordArt for Word2003 option using Word2010

In the word art for 2003, is there a reverse to the wordart style #3 so that the words go up and not  rounded behind like style 5?

Answer
If you are using Word Art in 2010, the dialogs are somewhat different from those in 2003. The curved styles are called 'Transforms' and there is a whole raft of them that you can apply from Text Effects on the Drawing Tools context sensitive ribbon.

Creating a Table of Contents with Word2010 for a large book file.

This file contains a large number of BOLD "headings" (normal style set) and these have almost the same font attributes as the "BODY text".  BODY text has  REGULAR  font style.
I need to promote only these "bolded headings" to LEVEL 1 in order to produce a custom TOC.
In outlining mode how do I promote to LEVEL1 all the hundreds of "headings" in a single step?
The settings in Outlining mode are: Show levels:  All levels
                                                   Show Text: Formatting: ticked
                                                    Show First Line Only:     ticked
The problem is that there seems to be no way of selecting just the "bold headings" without including the BODY TEXT which does not need promotion.

Answer
Click on the Replace in the Editing section of the Home tab of the Ribbon and then click on the More button and with then with the selection in the Find what: control, click on Format and then on Font and select  Bold under the Font Style section of the Format Font dialog and then click on OK.  Then move the selection to the Replace with: control and click on Format and then on Style and then select Heading 1 and then click on OK.  Then click on Replace All.
This will apply the Heading 1 style to all of the bold formatted text so that you can then use the Table of Contents utility to create a Table of Contents that includes those items.

Word2010 flags PARTS of words as misspelled

I'm updating a document in Word 2010 and when I add or change letters in words that are preexisting (e.g. words that were in the original document that haven't been edited yet) Word will do the red squiggly misspelled underline on only certain parts of the word.  Here are some examples:

Original text is "0-1ft", I put the cursor between f and t and change it to "0-1 foot" and just the two o's are underlined as misspelled.
Original text is "Boathouse locations...", I delete the uppercase B and change it to "Originally, boathouse locations..." and Word underlines "oathouse" as misspelled.
Original text is "provided", I highlight the v and type it again resulting in the exact same word "provided" in the same case and everything and Word underlines the whole word.

If I accept the changes it suggests, the new word on the page becomes an actual misspelling (e.g. following Word2010's suggestion, correcting the "oathouse" example creates "bboathouse") which are then NOT flagged as being misspelled.  Again with the "oathouse" example, if I type the whole word the way I want it instead of changing the one letter, then everything is fine.

Track Changes is not on when this happens.  This is a .docx file but it happens on other .doc files as well.  This isn't a showstopper but it sure is annoying.
