You have a couple of problems.
First is that your 2007 is an upgrade license. When you installed it on the old machine you probably had Office 2003 or early on it.  To install it on the new computer you need to prove that you are "upgrading" from an older version. It does not have to be installed, apparently the installation process will allow you to point to installation disks for "qualifying" older applications. you will have to find one, somewhere.
I Need Installation files/CD for pre 2007 version of Office, What Can I Do
1.Find a friend (new or old) who has the right CD and is willing to lend you the CD. Unlike the very "old" DOS days when there was a signature file on the floppy, there is nothing unique on the CD to identify it. The uniqueness is provided via the Product key you use to activate it. So, you can borrow a CD without threatening their installation/activation.
2.Ask at work if they have an installation CD you can borrow
3.Try to find a local "PC Computer Club". There is almost certainly a geek or three with disks you could borrow.
4.Find a small local computer store or repair business. They often have old versions of software because they are still supporting customers using them.
5.You could buy it online. Be very careful who you give your money to
6.Try websites like Kijiji or Craig’s List to see if you can borrow or buy it
7.Try getting one from MS (if it works, please post back here, there are many interested people who would like to know that MS is still providing that kind of support) http://support.microsoft.com/kb/326246/
Once you get the installation file, make sure you burn a copy for yourself before returning the disk if it is borrowed.

Once you get the older version, before you start the install, as Gordon says, you should uninstall the factory pre-installed Office Trial that almost certainly came with your computer. Trying to activate an installed copy of office with the trial still there will probably cause problems.

You do not HAVE to uninstall Office 2010 Starter. It is not actually "installed" on your computer in the traditional sense. It is running in a "virtual machine", which isolates it from actual installations on your computer. The one conflicting interaction you would have is with default file associations. Which application Windows opens when you double click on a file.  Windows seems to be somewhat reluctant to release file associations from Starter to installed versions. But you can get around that.

If you decide to uninstall starter, there is one thing you should consider. Starter has one unique attribute. It can be used to create a "portable" copy of itself on USB thumb drives so that you can run it on windows computers that do not have Office installed.
